Please include links to a place where we can listen! Places such as Myspace, Purevolume, the band's website, etc.
It makes checking out bands easy, especially since some of their material may be hard to find online. Thanks!
And no sharing music files!

I know I'm probably getting kind of annoying with this shit, but hey - gotsta do it. Band girlfriend duty calls.
Everyone check out my boyfriend's band on Facebook. And like them. Even if you don't really. Do it for me, please. And go see them at the Ernie Ball stage if you're going to Warped Tour any date from the 6th - 14th!

First off; I don't give a FUCK what you think about her! Haha! I am in complete awe of Lady G, like seriously.
We all know I'm a huge queer and I love pop music! BUT THAT'S BESIDE THE POINT. Ha! Lady GaGa, is so fucking gangster. You don't even know. What speaks to me the most about is how creative she is. She is just a big ole pot of creativity. It's obvious where she draws her inspiration from, but she expresses her self in her own way.
I JUST LOVE IT. And her music isn't half bad. I listen to it 24/7 now-a-days.

Not only are her singles both in the top 10, in ten countries. Just Dance was certified 3x platinum just the other day.
She's on her first headlining tour right now which is boosting her album sales. She's working her way up to the top. And she's not taking any fucking prisoners.
You're seriously looking at the future of pop music right here. It's not about the music anymore. It's everything.

I should probably be nice and promote them or whatever, especially since John is like my new best friend lately. (Plus there's Murgatroyd, and you all know about Brandon from the relationship thread.) I doubt they're really going to be anyone here's cup of tea per se, but I love the boys and YOU GUYS LOVE ME so help support them. K? K.

I love both with all my heart. Louder Than Bombs is one of the greatest albums ever made, and Morrissey continues to keep the legacy alive. I melt when I hear his voice.

Their music is a mix between 90's screamo/posthardcore. Very intense and cathartic!
One of the best acts right now in the DIY scene if you ask me.
I've been listening none-stop to their new song off of a split with my local homies from Maladie!
Their discography is pretty much very easy to find if you know how to look around.

Anybody like them? My friends recommended them to me because they think the singer sounds like Cedric from the Mars Volta. I listened to them, and I like them. I like the vocals too. My friends know me well.
Here's their PurevolumeOne of my favorites songs is on their purevolume. It's "Act Appalled."

Does anyone listen to these guys? They've been a music staple for a long time now. So good.
So goddamn good.
i might make a trip to Detroit in July to see them even though they're old and probably not that great live anymore. That's okay. Don't care.
Such a good hardcore band.

At the suggestion of an interview of Jesse Lacey, I want to get into the band Jawbreaker but don't know a good starting point. An album to start my adventure into their discography is what I'm looking for. Any advice is welcome.
Or, talk about how incredible Jawbreaker was?

So my band, Grim Luck, has 4 of its members in a different band (I guess now broken up) called Blaupunkt. It's more of a pop-punk sort of ska band. More pop punk alternative than anything though. Sounds nothing like Grim Luck.

Anyway. After a year, they finally put out an album. I actually record on one of their songs (I was going to record on more, but I left the country. heh.)
The album is free, you can join
this facebook group if you'd like, or you can just download the album here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?xzjt3mzornoI play on the track "Boy With Stars," and you can actually hear me. Hahaha
Myspace:
http://www.myspace.com/blaupunktskaSo anyway. Don't be alarmed by the first song. The rest of the album doesn't sound like that. These songs are super catchy, and will be stuck in your head allll day. So yeah. Let me know how you guys like it!

Oh mannn I'm excited.
QUOTE
For several years, the frontman has planned to do an album drawing inspiration from the acoustic and vintage country music styles that he first explored in the Tiger Army songs "Outlaw Heart" (1999), "In The Orchard" (2001), "The Long Road" (2004) and "Where The Moss Slowly Grows" (2007).
Nick 13's spaceWell, I knew he was planning to awhile ago, but whatever.
It's going to be good. In the Orchard is definitely one of, if not my favorite T.A song.

Alright. To be honest, these guys are terrible. I mean, really bad. But I'm addicted to them and I have no idea why. Perhaps because they're wildly inappropriate. It makes my inner punk die a little bit every time I put one of their cds in.
Anyone else heard of them?

http://www.myspace.com/iamxPartially electronic music by a guy who played almost everything on both of his albums. If you want to listen, this is particularly good timing, because there's an entire album up on Myspace right now. You can find a few more songs on blockedtube.
Out of the songs from The Alternative (the album on Myspace), my favorites are After Every Party I Die and S.H.E. The former of these songs is a really catchy, addictive dance song. The latter is a dark, downbeat song that will give you chills.
I'll recommend a lot more songs later.

This is my track by track analysis of Desperate Living, Horse the Band's newest cd to be released on October 6th. It is meant for those who want to hear it from a Horse fan and not some random music site that probably doesn't know jack shit about them.
A couple of notes: I'm not a professional writer/reviewer so forgive my lack of knowledge in this area lol. Also, any lyrical quotes I use aren't necessarily accurate though I did try to choose the ones that seem obvious enough to quote. I'm also skipping the songs that they've officially revealed already.
Cloudwalker- An epic start to an epic album. The harmony of the guitar and synth really stands out and is orgasm-inducing. Part-way into the song, Erik uses what sound like whale song which adds to the track and is a nice alternative the standard blips and bleeps that we're used to (though, I'm not saying those are bad =P). 2:30 into the song starts a standout moment in Horse's catalog which begins with Nathan screaming "I am the sky. Don't ask why...". The emotion pouring from Nathan and the music in this part to the ensuing gang vocals will send chills down your spine.... no lie.
Desperate Living- Starts with a sound reminiscent of 'Rape Escape' and then booms into a driving drum and bass beat backed by David's penchant for amazing leads. From here, the song softens to a sound not familiar on a Horse album for a bit but it works well. Once the song kicks in again after some ambience, Jon Karel's drumming mixed with Erik's keys will make the whitest of men boogie and hospitals will use this track to get the paralyzed up and moving again. You can't sit still listening to that beat. The song ends with a bizarrely spoken word: "...I'm a plumber, but what I plumb is the fruit of infinite. And deeper than infinite, I make infinite look like a four."
The Failure of All Things- This song seems like it would be straight from TMH with Erik's keys and David's shredding. This whole song almost sounds like one big collection of amazing breakdowns formed together to make a kickass song. As heard on the live bootleg, Nathan uses his softer vocals that I felt were sorely missed on AND. They remind me of the end of 'Softer Sounds'. The ending will make anyone cream themselves. Deep song. I can't wait for the full lyrics (of all the songs).
Sample lyric: "I'm sorry I'm a fucking monster!"
Horse the Song- Great song and is another that reminds me of TMH. David's lead work in one section is really strong with a southern/bluesy feel that leads into an AND style gameboy pre-breakdown. "Living at the top when you're at the fucking bottom!" K-Slax only has the one line you hear in the 30 second clip. There's no rap section if most of you were expecting one.
Science Police- This album's 'Sex Raptor' X5 billion. The catchiest song they've ever written. This song will bring in all the biddies from around the world to suck Horse's collective cocks. Music is pure funktastically disco but David's twitchy guitar work grounds the song naturally in Horse territory. This song should definitely be a single. It mellows out towards the end for an excellent outro. "You are under arrest".
Shapeshift- See note.
Between the Trees- With Erik's intro, I almost expect to hear an 80s fantasy movie theme song kick in... I don't mean that in a bad way. Nathan starts off singing in a different tone than we're used to. It's quite fantastic, actually. "I think I seem to be a mystery". You can hear the emotion in his voice much more prominently than normal in this song. Musiclly, this is a stand out track as it has some of heaviest moments on the album while also containing some of the most melodic. "Radio. Radio... can you hear my swan song?".... That's fucking deep right there and sad to hear.
Golden Mummy Golden Bird- When this song kicks in, you too will want to scream "Lights out!" a la 'House of Boo'. This song is fucking brutal. One of the heaviest in Horse's library. Midway through the song is a Rush-like ambient piece which reminds me of 'Trees' but with a HTB flavor, of course. Once it kicks in again, the drumming will demand your attention. "If I could die I WOULD!". With those words, the band immediately comes in to rape your eardrums with some of the most brutal music you'll ever hear. Nathan's screaming during this part = melts my brain. So fucking good.
Lord Gold Wand of Unyielding- Another candidate for catchiest song. I can't quite make out who's who in vocals (besides Nathan). This could also be a single to attract the masses. It's a "safe" song lol but Nate's patented scream is still there. Good song that "makes your pussy wet". This definitely feels like 'Lord Gold Throneroom' part 2 in certain areas. Crunchy/Sludgy (hard for me to describe) guitar is delicious.
Big Business- Probably the most unorthodox song on the album. It has excellent parts that shouldn't flow together as well as they do here. They wouldn't have if Horse hadn't crafted their art into something as godly as they did with this album. This song seems to be about Ed Edge. Great tribute lol. Oh... and there's some triangle on this track =].
Rape Escape- See note.
Arrive- See note.
All in all, this album puts anything else in Horse's category to shame. Most bands don't have the sense of passion as heard on this record. Not even knowing the lyrics, I can tell you it's very deep and meaningful. What these guys put together is pure art for those who get it. I thank you, Horse the Band, for coming out with something that has touched me so deeply. I haven't felt music like this since The Mechanical Hand. A Natural Death was a great soundscape, but Desperate Living is just... I'm speechless *BOW*.
I'm looking forward to my pre-order and will buy 2 copies at the record store. You guys should, too.

THE CRITICS ARE RAVING...
"faen så fett"
"FY faen så fett"
"Fy faen i helvete så fett!"
"Fy faen i fandens aslehål så fett!"...IT'S A HIT!

Here I copy something I nice person named
ANN LE wrote and then tell you what it should mean to you.
Nobody wants to be caught with the wrong kind of nihilism these days, when sincerity can so easily translate to wretched emotional hardcore or what certain teenage cult bands have promoted as suicidal black metal.Don't be that guy! Stop listening to Shining or... like... those French screamo bands because that's not cool or trv enough. If you listen to this, you're cool!

"
faen så fett"
So unfortunate as much of Scandinavian heavy metal or heavy-music-with-metal-roots lends itself to an earnesty that’s a bit blush-inducing, noise-rockers Årabrot on the other hand, along with many other stalwarts in the Norwegian underground, have grown in reputation for championing the weirdest of the ugly. Their unique attitude pushes the limits of heavy not just in terms of Slayer or Ministry though those influences are there, but in the strange rhythms of Captain Beefheart, the grooviness of Scott Walker, or the lyricism of Nick Cave.Weird and ugly, but it sounds like a bunch of other things you've heard before in a blender so you know you'll like it! Faen i helvete!

I only just finished listening to this 10 minutes ago. It has pretty much everything I love about loud and annoying music. I put my stamp of approval on it. I also seal it with my approval. The postage, to the contrary, does
not get my approval. That is unless it's media mail.

David Pajo is a guitarist who has been in every band and your mom. This new album is a collection of Misfits covers. It sounds like David Pajo playing Misfits songs. In other words it sounds like Elliot Smith playing Misfits songs.

Songs are:
1. Angelfuck
2. Hybrid Moments
3. Where Eagles Dare
4. Bullet
5. Teenagers From Mars
6. Devil's Whorehouse
7. I Turned Into A Martian
8. Horror Business
9. Attitude
yes, it's a bit novelty, but I figured plenty of you would be more than intrigued. "Angelfuck" is on
his myspace
, but 1/9th of the album means that your fun box is still 8/9ths empty. So I'll remind you that it's the year of your lord two thousand and nine, surely you all know various exciting ways of acquiring albums like this one by now. Goooooo...
