I agree with Pablo. It's really not an album to dance to. There are too many slow songs, and even the faster ones are just not structured well for dancing. They're built too much like conventional pop songs to be dance tracks.

Take "Semiotic Love" for example. The chorus is upbeat and dancy. Everytime it comes around, it calls for intense, uninhibited ass-shaking. But in the verses, the song pulls back. The musical performance is restrained, and so you feel like your dancing needs to be restrained as well. It's a total mood killer.

In my opinion, this album as a whole will not get the dancefloor rumbling unless it's remixed.

It's also not an album to have "cex" to.

Your posts always impress me. You know a lot! And I pretty much agree. The first time I listened to this album, I was driving to work in the a.m. I almost fell asleep. ZZZZzzzzz It didn't get my blood stirring.

Having danced last night to just about every song on the album at the Chicago concert, I can decisively say I made the right choice in voting yes. ditzy.gif

I just can't figure out how to 'dance' on CexCells. Maybe I'm too bad at dancing? Anyway, I voted no.

I voted no. It's a great album, and there's a few songs such as Snuff on Digital which are pretty dancy, but as a whole, no, the album is not an album to dance to. But that doesn't mean it isn't awesome!

I find it very difficult to dance to. Trust me, I'm one to get down. I've seen plenty and listen to many dance acts, and this is something I don't see my self dancing to.

Edit
For those who say they can dance to it, I'd really like to see it.

I dance to everything, I do my own thing. It's not an attractive thing... but at least I have something. Hahaha.

Buuut, I have to say that I almost think Mask is more dancable than this.
For me.
And my crazy thing.

well I tested this thread out on a massaive gaggle of pre teens girls this weekend. You see, my daughter celebrated her 11th birthday on Saturday and she had a huge birthday party. 23 girls between the ages of 11 and 13 came.Completely unable to stand listening to Rihanna any monger after two hours of listenign to UMbrella for the millionth time in two and half hours, I put on CexCells and sat back to watch the kids reactions. At first they were a little surprised by the change in music, but then after a couple of minutes, their toes were tapping, then it was all out booty shaking.

I am not one hundred percent sure whether the reason the girls were dancing to it was because of their ages, or whether it was indeed danceable.

I can't imagine myself busting moves to the cd either, but I do find myself tapping my toes or bobbing my head to it..... There is something to it that does make you want to move

If anyone says it is danceable because Davey dances to it, you lose. Honestly, Davey can't dance or he's just as confused as I am, because CexCells isn't dancy enough.

It's an album to dance to. The type of dancing changes from song to song.

Maybe next vote split boys vs girls.

There are certain songs, suchas Snuff on Digital, Mute, Again, Again and Again, and Stiff Kittens which are quite dancey.

But there are several songs which are very electronic but not danceable, such as Wake up and Cities of Night. And Fear of Being Found.

So I'd say probably half and half.

Standing around in your living room or with a group of friends? Absolutely! In that situation, all music is music that you can dance to.

Put it on in a club and the answer is predominantly no. There are some songs and some moments, but overall it's not much of a "dance" album.

I don't know how there are more votes on yes than no.

If you'd put ANY song whatsoever at a festival or club here in Miami, chances are, people won't dance...

Maybe because the dance music scene is completely different. More house, electro, etc.

Although the genre is closer to the "dance" genre than AFI, I find AFIs music makes me want to dance alot more. BA is generally not very loud and fast so yeah ... I would be boppin all night if I ever saw them live though. And one or 2 of their songs are good for dancing very very much

This is ok yeah?

Hadn't seen this thread before...

I vote yes, because I do tend to dance when listening to the faster songs. Of course if I'm in public, it's usually just tapping feet or something silly like that, but I dance in my mind. tongue.gif
